Wind resistance! Not part of the Fastest 5K training plan but Mother Nature decided it should be. She also decided I should run in 45 degree weather at 5:30am and that it should be sprinkling rain.... read more

I bought a Soleus. I couldn't see spending hundreds on a Garmin when I have much more important things to pay for. It was $99 and is very acurate. The splits may not always be spot on but the final numbers are always right.

Great run! I got my garmin using "points" from an Airmiles plan (do you have that in the US?)....really fun to use :)

Amanda, thank you so much! I've heard people rave about their Garmins but not really heard much about any other brand. I started doing some research on Soleus and found a pretty pink one that has really great reviews. Going to be a little while longer before I splurge but it's so much more affordable and just what I need!
Peneloperae, we have similar things, I think, but I don't think I personally have anything like that. Regardless, I think I've found just what I need!

I don't mind running in rain but there were several pairs of animals on their way somewhere and when it's that bad I rethink my training. Proud I'm sticking to the schedule and it seems to be working!
