good Tempo!! and other stuff 4.5 mi

Rough warmup, legs sore and tight from yesterday's long run but about half way into it I was fine. Drills before I did 2 x 1mile at tempo. Did this on the track to keep pace true and I did fine. First mile was 9:04 and second was 8:56. Wanted between 8:56-9:14. Then 4x200 fast. Hit those at 52, 54, 52, 48 gut buster. Really happy with this one.
Read something somewhere about a columnist who wrote about health and weight. He was so concerned about his weight and was ignoring everything else. My weight is no where close to where I want it to be. And that IS IS IS IS IS frustrating. But I can fix that, with some better efforts and commitment. But what I am finally recognizing and I only began that after reading this article is- my fitness is really improving. My strength is slowly improving (it'd be faster if I actually did more strength work), and my workouts are getting much better. I ran 4 miles Saturday
and 7 miles Sunday (in humidity) and came back and did 4.5 today with a long tempo work and I feel great right now. I AM in a good place and I need to recognize that even if the scale isn't saying what I want it to say. I've refocused to concentrate on my fitness and I'm in a good place to stay committed there. It took a few weeks too. Now. Time to refocus on my eating habits. That will take time, but I know I can get there.
