I don't think anything beats starting the Bix and looking ahead up Brady St and seeing a sea of runners going up this massive hill. Then you realize you have to maneuver around 100's of people that are lined up in the wrong spot and are TOO SLOW :o) but I said to myself to relax up this hill and warm my legs back up. First mile was 9:56, second was better due to a nice downhill at 8:42. Powered up Middle Rd (thank you Wednesday runs) and ate up mile 3 in 8:57 and I hit the half way mark around 32:10 or so (Ryan Hall was almost done at this point hahahaha). Fourth mile was back up McClellen, a long beast of a hill in 9:10 then mile 5 came... if you've never ran this course, this is easily the worst mile which ends with the worst hill... grrr I'm really happy I ran it Wednesday so I was better prepared for this part. I was so concentrated on getting up the hill I forgot to hit my lap button for mile 5, so it, and mile 6 are off 9:53 and 8:47 respectively. I hit Brady and the downhill, that lovely down hill and tried to open it up. I saw on my watch 50 minutes and realizing I could get my goal of 63 made me push even harder down this hill. The nice down pour of rain most of the race helped keep me cool and moving quickly. Last turn came and I really put it on and, as you see, got my goal!! I'm really happy.. tight... but happy right now. Awesome to see LT, Meske and Meredith and Kenny afterwards and alumni Carly J. This race is awesome and really, everyone should do it. It is so much fun yet so challenging at the same time. It is so great to see all types of people running this thing and finishing it. Just awesome.
