I've heard you're not supposed to do vigorous warm-up/stretches before long run it only fatigues the muscles and as a result ruins your run. I don't warm-up or stretch before long runs. The only thing that helps a lot is, to start veeeery slow. You'll fall into comfortable pace after awhile
Good luck! :)

Carol - It has been wonderful weather for the past week. The funny thing is though, I read on one of the running sites that anything above 58 degrees was considered warm while running. It's been in the lower 70's here, but when I get out it's in the 60's. Which I think is wonderful!! It doesn't seem hot at all, because we are use to the 80+ weather. I'm really enjoying this cold front, and wish it would last.

I got the Garmin bug a few years back and was lucky to hit a great sale for the 305. I had upgraded to the one with a bezel but sent it back because I found it too hard to figure out being a computer challenged person. I still have my 305 and would only upgrade to one that would be able to track my swims along with the running and biking. Whichever one you get, it will be great. I have a friend who got one off Kijiji and it works great. Happy shopping! :+)

Wow V!!! I did that for awhile, but it was just too much of an inconvenience. So, I got a phone with a data plan. Now that's becoming a P.I.A. So, I'm moving up to a Garmin. Jeez, I'm so spoiled. lol! Nah, I appreciate just to be able to run period. I feel blessed:) Rina- I hear ya. I would just be using it for running, so probably any ol Garmin would do it for me. A lot of good reviews on the 305 though.

We had a great time!!!! And Mark, it's hard on my hubs knees also. That's why they are both braced up. He has to skip some obstacles, because they are just really hard on them. He finishes strong though!!!!!
