now, before you laugh that I swam a whopping 50 m, let me tell you that this is HUGE for me! I met with the pool director (also a triathlete!) as she offered to take a look at my stroke and tell me how horrific it is. Turns out it's not so bad afterall!! Now I just need to GET IN THE POOL and work on my endurance! Oh and breathing on the left side? yeah that's gonna take some work. Regardless, I'm stoked. Watchout triathlon world, here I come!!!

Woohoo!

I practiced 3 stroke bilateral breathing in my swim lessons. So now it's just second nature. I'm sure you'll get the hang of it. There are some drills you can do to help practice.

heather, i was talking to my endurance team's swim "coach" and she was saying something about "intermediate" swims, being that you can run for a solid hour w/o problems. i thot YIKES! i don't think i even qualify as a beginner then!

You know, 6 months ago I would have laughed. But after I got in the pool thinking I was "in shape" I quickly realized running is much easier than swimming. Keep it up!

WOW! good luck. I just completed a 5k this past weekend and would love to train for my first tri- which is in April also. Not sure if I'm gonna do it. The swimming part is my downfall. I'm happy and excited for you :-) "GO HEATHER!!!"
