(Doing this from my iPhone.) OK despite the lack of traing & telling myself to just have fun this was one of the worse races I've run. I'll provide detail later! 7:54, 8:21, 9:15, 9:49, 9:09!

Later I'll have to also add the approximate 2 miles I had to run/jog back & forth to my car to get my tshirt & plastic mug!

Official times: Net = 45:15, overall = 45:51 which the results lists 9:05 as my pace. Lets just start by saying my half marathon pace back in April was 8:09!! 2116 participants!
I've run this race previously two times. I know I'm not going to be able to park close to the start/finish. I arrived about 35 minutes before the start. I needed to pick up my shirt and shitty little plastic mug but get these items back to my car.

I don't the exact distance but it was probably a total of two miles to jog there then back to my car and back to the start again. The good news was I got very close to starting line the bad news it was about three minutes before the start.
I started slow but I could tell I didn't feel right. At two miles I wanted to stop. Not just walk but completely stop. At the next water break I told myself to walk. I have NEVER walked during a race before today! I ended up doing this three times.

Bottom line was I was disappointed in myself. Psychologically I let everything bother me. No matter my recent training I should be able to run sub eight minutes miles for 5 miles! Oh my right Achilles/ankle hurts again! The most exciting thing was I got to use my recently purchased EZ Pass for the first time! Yay, exciting pfffffft - good night!

My legs cramping up badly after the race. The walk to the car was painful. It was difficult to stretch them without cramps. I had to stand by my car for about 10 - 15 minutes before attempting to get in to drive. I have a manual transmission too - fun times! Since I was wearing compression socks it was fun watching my calf muscles move like an alien was living inside them!
One last item: Happy Birthday Goz. Well it's over as I type this but sorry for dedicating such a shitty run for your b'day!!!
