Humid but apparently I just wanted to go faster today. I should've gone twice as far but I was gasping for air so I guess not.

Just a quick little leg stretcher after yesterday's long one that did me in. Sore at first but it got better. All I had time for, though.

Just testing out (yet another pair of) new shoes. These at least get a second go. It's gorgeous out there today!

None of the Pure project ones fit my foot well. I tried them all on! (that was fun for both me and the salesguy!) I have some Nike Frees that are older and I'm pretty sure they helped cause my broken foot last fall. Plus, the rocks and debris that gets caught in the soles bugged me. I can't do anything with an arch at all as it throws my high arches all out of whack, but these Cursoris were interesting. I felt like I was floating. It's a zero drop but with some serious cushion.

I gotta believe the perfect shoe is out there, but this is ridiculous. My entire living room is covered in shoes and shoe boxes and shipping boxes. It looks like Christmas with a bunch of kids just happened in there. Either that or a tornado.

The bathroom and changing area/showers are a LOT nicer than before and she has about twice as many bikes but they're crammed so close together that you have to duck underneath them to get to the inside row(s). I felt squished. But she's doing something right as it was a 9am Wednesday class and there were 22 people in it (about half the bikes were full). And there's a little TRX studio connected to it, too, but she's only doing regular TRX classes, not a spinning/TRX combo.

I have the virratas and I love them - I'm not sure yet if they are good for me, but I was having arch problems long before I got them. They are zero drop and the are cushiony - you should try them! I will say, that I don't think the Saucony Kinvara, Mirage, or Virrata hold up as long as a traditional shoe. If you get 250 miles out of them, you'll be doing good.
-
That's interesting, Kelly. I was looking at the Virratas last night and was totally ready to buy them, but then I went to the Saucony website and they are classified as having a "high" arch. I can't do any arch at all, which is why I like minimalist shoes in general (but some of the minimalist stuff now is coming out as a stability shoe, which burns out my IT band). I need to try on a pair first I think. And the low mileage is a bummer, even with the fact they're only $70 online.

I'm not sure I can recommend an intense barre class followed by a pretty challenging yoga class an hour after running 14 miles. The bike ride home was a treat.
