      I hate that. Luckily, where I live is very clean but that would bug the ever loving sh(t out of me. I used to live in Massachusetts and it was standard there. Good run! Keep it up.

  7. Might be doing Run For Your Lives in August in Missouri. Anyone ran one before? What about a Tough Mudder? One is coming up in St. Louis next year.

      I did the Run for Your Lives near Atlanta this spring, and it was a hoot. It stormed like crazy the night before so the course was entirely mud, we just slogged our way through it and got undeaded early on. I'd like to try it another time without (hopefully) the rain, so only the intentionally muddy parts would be muddy. Or do it again as a zombie. I suspect the obstacles are fairly tame compared to other obstacle races, the main goal being to stay alive.

    Not sure on the mileage, running with wife and friends pushing a double stroller. Some wicked hills. Calves were not ready for this kind of abuse and needed some @Zensah love afterwards.

      No kidding. It's amazing how your brain reacts to competition. Running-wise, you know when you're spent, so you slow down to recover. In a game, you know you're spent, then you get challenged and pull a sprint out of your ass. If nothing else, it proves that when you don't have anything left, you still have something.

      Angela - This was a full effort run, something I rarelly do on the treadmill and for short distances. I was exhausted afterwards and covered in sweat. I'd like to keep getting one of these runs in per week.

      Dan - Oh, yeah, I was fine 10 days or so post-marathon. Just trying to maintain a base. Haven't been on a non-treadmill run since the marathon, though.

      Tom - We actually just talked to the guy from saveyourself.ca on our last show about treating ITBS. Check it out. Interesting point of view. I'm not injured, though, just maintaining base through the winter. I don't plan on doing a lot of outside winter runs this year. Next half marathon is in May, so I have plenty of time to train warmly.
