    So glad I didn't drive this route b/4 I tried it. Never would have done it. HUGE hills. HUGE. Did the run/walk training workout for a half marathon. Splits: 11:15 (walk & run); mi. 2 -- 13:59

    Icy & slippery, especially on the hills. Very cold. 2 pairs of pants, 3 shirts, a fleece jacket, gloves, & hat made it reasonably warmish.

    SHIN SPLINTS. Holy Lord. Awful pain. Wondering if my shoes are shot b/c that's the only time I'm in pain on a run. Maybe I will need to visit Up & Running before I thought. Yowza.

    Light drizzle & some slick walks, but very nice run today. Total route--3.15 miles; Ran a solid 2.31 including the huge Elm Street hill.
