  1. RUN
good 5 Peaks Durham Forest Trail Race 7.11 km 01:05 14:37 pace

It's always fun to do a trail race and this was my first of the season. Gorgeous day, beautiful area, hellacious hills!

  2. RUN
alright Lakeshore & High Park 21 km 03:13 14:46 pace

This one was hard. It was the longest run of my marathon training schedule and I have a cold! Sore knee at about 19K and had to power-walk the last bit. Oh well, the marathon should be easier - at ... read more

Great job and for getting it done. Beating the hard is and accomplishment.

  3. RUN
    good Lakeshore 8.01 km 01:10 14:00 pace

My new Saucony PowerGrid Hurricane shoes felt light and comfortable. I have some other Mizuno shoes that cut under my ankle (stupid me for buying them), so I'm so glad the Sauconys are better.

  4. RUN
    alright Game of Life 10K - Ashbridge'... 10.04 km 01:20 12:46 pace

Bugs, bugs, and more bugs. It's really hard to run with good posture when you're trying not to breathe in tiny little sand flies everywhere!

  5. RUN
good Lakeshore to Harbourfront 18.01 km 02:43 14:31 pace

Now that my toe, knee, and hip are getting stronger through osteopathy, this was my longest run in this training cycle. Felt pretty good!

  6. RUN
    good Treadmill 7.55 km 00:58 12:16 pace

Mile repeats or, as Canadians would say, 1.6K repeats.

  7. RUN
    good Lakeshore 8.86 km 01:24 15:13 pace

I ran the same average pace as yesterday but it felt much better!

  8. RUN
    alright Lakeshore 7.19 km 01:08 15:12 pace

This one was tough to keep my heart rate down.

  9. RUN
good High Park 5.84 km 00:53 14:44 pace

Windy day but still lots of sunshine. I'm getting better at determining my heart rate without looking at the Garmin all the time!

Very nice run Gillian, I almost ran there today but did not as it is a long way to go to run by myself.

  10. RUN
good High Park 6.36 km 01:00 15:10 pace

This was a test of Stu Mittleman's MAP (mostly aerobic pace) training, where I kept my heart rate low for the entire session. It seemed ridiculously slow, but I actually felt good the whole ti... read more

  11. RUN
great High Park Spring Run-Off 8.05 km 01:01 12:11 pace

Harry's Spring Run-Off 8K race. Gorgeous day, lots of people. I didn't run for speed but instead to test my new running form in a race. Although my heart rate was higher than it should ha... read more

  12. RUN
    alright Treadmill 5 km 00:42 13:39 pace

Turns out my knee problems are due to (a) changing to 100% forefoot running; (b) upping my mileage for marathon training; and (c) a jammed second toe on my foot. Hopefully, treatment over the next ... read more

Later run for me; ended at 10:00 pm but I got it done!

  14. RUN
    good Treadmill 5.5 km 00:42 12:11 pace

Another workout; another chance to test my knee. So far, so good! I'm seeing a sports therapist on Monday but hopefully all will be well.

  15. RUN
    good Treadmill 5 km 00:42 13:34 pace

Cautiously optimistic that my knee problems were mostly caused by old shoes. Today felt good!

    • William R.

Glad it felt better, let's hope it is just the shoes.

Thanks, William. I'm buying new shoes this weekend and I'm getting a referral to a sports therapist. Hopefully all will be well.
