I paced Serge for his first trail race. Someone slipped Hammer-powder into the water at the half-way aid station which seemed to cause Serge some problems. My bulging disc seems good, but now my R foot is starting to develop metatarsal stress fracture-like pain - WTF!?....this must be how middle age will go....healing one pain just to get another! Oh well, just keep running...

Kinda sucks getting older, yes? That's just wrong that someone slipped Hammer into the water if it wasn't supposed to be there - I know when I run and they say they've got gatorade I trust that it is indeed gatorade because powerade will do me in. Glad you took 2nd and 3rd respectively (and were schooled by a 7 year old girl!)

I'm not even going to say anything about the age stuff. Good job on getting it done and I hope it's nothing really serious

Welcome to my world Gil....lol! Does the pain feel to be in the foot or more on top Gil?

Thanks for understanding! @ Joy, the pic was pre-race...I doubt I will ever really podium. @ Rick - it's on the top of the foot at metatarsal, I've had similar issues on both feet before, I think it might be from my 19 miler on the bike a couple weeks ago.

Nice run. Middle age certainly has brought me its fair share of interesting twists...welcome to the club.

If it's not one thing it's another grrr .... :(
I agree with the others lets not talk about getting older. Your still very impressive Gil that you get out there despite the pain!! Nice job!

Most likely extensor tendonitis. I get that off and on and icing it for 4 or 5 days tends to get it back in check. Warning, a stress fracture can give the same pain. Ice and keep an eye on it. You know the routine I'm sure :D
