That happens to me too :-(. Ice, rolling, stretching and 2 days off is my go-to right now (and some acupuncture mid-week - but that's optional of course!)

Hi, from experience I would, if I could, try a set of things depending on my sanity: an ice bath after taking recovery drinks, a nap, rolling iced cans, and extra sleep. : ) Sleep does magic, but it could be just me.

Thanks guys!! Looks like ice baths might be in my future. Naps and early bed time always occur on my long run days. I can barely keep my eyes open after 6 PM!

Glad you had a great run! Yay! But not yay for the German shepherd! Runners World featured an article this month about dog attacks. So scary!

I read that article on my way to Dallas the other day and that's all I could think about after I got it off me. I'm a dog lover, own three of my own but I certainly was scared when this occurred! Notified my HOA management and they've already sent out a broadcast notice to all home owners in my subdivision.
