Nice job. I really need to start doing recovery runs or some other sort of cross training on Sundays. I run my long run and then do nothing for a few days.

That's a long distance for a recovery run! WTG!

I'm gonna have to read up on these "recovery" runs. Isn't the day after a long run supposed to be a rest day? But well done nonetheless!

I'm new to endurance running, but was told that a nice, easy run the day after your long run can loosen up your legs a bit and cut down on residual soreness. I haven't done one yet, though (always run my long runs on Saturday and take Sunday and Monday off).

Below was a forum in DM a year back. No clear winner.

I looked a few different schedules and some have a rest day, others a x-train day, and others a 3-4 mile recovery run.
