Well, I haven't totally lost my cardio after taking way too long off from a couple trips and being sick and lazy and hating the cold weather. Starting to break in my new Nike Lunar Elites I bo... read more

  5. RUN
    alright Week 3 mid-week 10.17 km 00:58 09:10 pace

  6. swim
good Swim lessons week 2 01:00

Worked on side strokes and front crawl, and not getting water up my nose.

I think these are actually getting easier.

  8. FIT
great Hot Restorative @ Yoga Passage 01:15

Ah, I missed this class. First yoga class in a while, and it felt gooooood. Bought a bolster to do some stuff at home, too.

  9. FIT
    Morning Bootcamp 01:00

First attempt at morning bootcamp. Not too bad getting up early... though we'll see if the energy holds up through the workday.

  10. swim
    good Swim Lessons! 01:00

First swim lesson at the YMCA. Good instructor, small class and I felt like I made some good progress. Hopefully on track to actually do a tri this summer!

  11. FIT
    good FAST Bootcamp 01:00

First bootcamp session after the xmas holidays, and it actually wasn't too bad. A little sore in the abs the next day, despite the workout they got over the past few weeks from digesting all t... read more

  12. RUN
blah Week 2 Long Run 14.07 km 01:28 10:05 pace

Week 2 long run after taking all the week's activities off due to feeling rather crappy. A brisk -15C (-29C with windchill) made for a cold, slow slog around the river paths. My water had froz... read more

alright Week 1 Long Run 13.24 km 01:16 09:12 pace

Week 1 long run from home down to the river and along the paths up towards Edworthy and back to Kensington. Not too cold, but a bit of a struggle keeping my speed and energy up.

great Chester Lake Snowshoe 7 km 02:00 27:35 pace

I'm baaaack! Week one of training for the Vancouver Marathon and we replaced the short run with a cool snowshoe to Chester Lake in Kananskis. Great conditions to be outside in the mountains.

  17. RUN
good Auckland Marathon 42.2 km 04:03 09:16 pace

Another time improvement for my second full marathon in October, so I'm very happy with that, though I'm a little pissed I didn't push harder to break 4 hours. Nice flat course, and ... read more

Great job, brother! You are a beast...2 marathons in a month!! It sounds like you had a great visit to NZ, and you topped it off with a great effort on the run. I am chasing the elusive under 4 hour marathon as well, I am cautiously optimistic. But in reality I will be happy with anything under 4:15. Again, great job!

Iceland would be amazing! I do recommend Amsterdam in October- the weather is usually pretty good (cool), the course is fast and it's incredibly well organized. Plus there's free massage at the end!

  19. RUN
great Punakaiki River Path 11.22 km 01:06 09:23 pace

First run in the Southern hemisphere and felt great. Along a twisty, hilly river path for 4K then back and up the highway a bit. Loving New Zealand!

good Victoria Marathon 42.2 km 04:08 09:26 pace
