First marathon training run. After a craptacular start to the training week, I wasn't going to let this workout get away from me. The plan was 1 mile warm-up followed by 3 miles at perceived 10k pace followed by 1 mile cool down.
The splits:
Mile 1: 9:03
Mile 2: 7:37
Mile 3: 7:30 (included Harlem hill)
Mile 4: 7:40
Mile 5: 9:19 (included waiting for lights to change)
After feeling bad on my last two runs this was just what I needed. I tried to include the hilliest parts of Central Park on my route because I have to start training hard!


Way to go Jess! You showed those hills some serious chick power.
