Colette and maman, happy after the race.

  3. RUN
    good NYRR Mini 10K 6.2 mi 00:57 09:14 pace

NYRR Mini 10K this morning in Central Park. I raised $1,100 to help find cures for leukemia and other blood cancers, so very happy about that. As for the race, it was my slowest 10K ever, and one o... read more

  4. RUN
tired Central Park 6.21 mi 01:00 09:43 pace

Not easy, but after 2 weeks with no running, that's to be expected. I did one loop, clockwise, the same course as the race next week. Central Park seemed huge today! Very happy I'm done.

  5. RUN
good Jamesport long run 6.22 mi 01:02 09:55 pace

My longest run in ages, woohoo! Slow and steady, in Jamesport for the long weekend.

  6. RUN
good Jamesport tempo run 4.13 mi 00:38 09:17 pace

I haven't done a faster run in a long time, and it felt great.

  7. RUN
tired BB Park + Old Fulton Street 3.99 mi 00:41 10:12 pace

Beautiful day. Glad I squeezed in my run before we leave for Long Island. Good, slow run, but I felt spent.

  8. RUN
    good Prospect Park

A loop of Prospect Park plus the long hill repeat along PP West. Good run!

  9. RUN
good Good run 3.1 mi 00:29 09:26 pace

Humidity was to the roof this morning. The air felt heavy, but somehow I felt strong and had a good run. My body seems to getting used to running!

  10. RUN
Brooklyn Bridge Park 2.79 mi 00:27 09:48 pace

This week I feel lighter on my feet and running feels better. I don't know why, but I take it.

  11. RUN
good Cobble Hill 2.84 mi 00:28 09:46 pace

Shortie early in the morning since I was up anyway (thank you, Colette).

  12. RUN
alright Brooklyn Bridge Park 3 mi

Run-walk-run. Without my watch on my regular route along the water.

  13. I couldn't run last week: sick, sore, and petite Colette had high fever for 5 days (2 trips to the ER). We're all good now, and we'll resume our normal schedule :)

  14. RUN
alright Brooklyn Bridge Park 2.76 mi 00:29 10:19 pace

I managed a short run today. At first my ankles bothered me, but I warmed up and did stretches and heel raises, and that helped. Upward and onward.

  15. My ankles are still sore, even when I'm just walking. Not sure I should try and go for a run today, or wait a little longer.

I distinguish pain from discomfort. Would you call this pain (from an injury perhaps) or is it just discomfort (from your resumption of running)? I try to run through discomfort but I won't run with pain. If in doubt don't run and wait a little longer.

  16. RUN
    injured Aborted run 1 mi

I had found the ideal time to go for a run (Bubba had won, Colette had finished dinner, and the kitchen was clean) and then, I just couldn't run! I tried for about a mile, but felt sharp pain ... read more
