Transition of 1:30 which is slow :( Fumbled a bit with putting on socks. Maybe I'll eventually invest in some shoes that I can wear sockless. I did remember to bring trail shoes (and I should have warned Aki more), but they're not good without socks. I have to say, I don't care for this course. I like that it's on fireroads, but on second thought, the surface was large gravel and hardpack which is just enough instability to make it hard to relax into the run. Also the course overlaps itself with a whole series of out and backs, so it messes with my head a bit in terms of knowing how far into the course I am when I see all these people running at me. Lots of short, but steep, hills. Not fast, which I expected, but at least I got negative splits: 9:04, 8:54, 8:53, 8:28. I didn't notice getting passed by any older woman, except one charging 59 year old. Sheesh. I want to be her when I grow up.
I think my total time was: 1:41:xx No official results by the time we packed it in. Will update when I know them.
