injured Rogue Valley Ouch 7.32 mi 01:10 09:30 pace

Afternoon run and I decided to do Rogue Valley clockwise. This direction is steeper up and longer (but less steep on the downhill). I thought the relatively gentler down would be manageable. The trail to the farm was pretty crowded, but that's what I get with an afternoon start. This was going tough, but OK - until the descent. Just too much downhill. My back was aching half way down and I wished I was done, but the only way to get home was to keep going. Slowed down more than I wanted and tried to be conscientious of my posture and position on the landings, but it was a bit too much steady pounding. Lesson learned. Spent a bunch of time stretching hips and back when I got home (had to do some just to be able to take shoes off). Shower and more stretching shortly.

In other news, I soaked my HR strap before I set out and it seemed to hold a steady reading. I've dampened it before to ensure a good signal, but perhaps not enough moisture.

Sorry to hear that. Clockwise is my favorite way to go on that trail precisely because I prefer the gentler downhill. Hope your back feels better soon.
