The time is going by faster as I get a little bit better at the whole swim thing. I don't have to concentrate so much on the breathing and the proper stroke.

Biking with Michelle and the XC girls. The season is almost here! They are working hard and will be ready to race :0)

Had a good swim this morning! The pool was not crowded and my time is getting faster!

Just another day in the pool!

I am beginning to not mind the swimming as much, but I definitely think I need a MP3 player to listen to underwater. Thinking about xc workouts, lesson plans and to-do lists just don't pass t... read more

Biking with Michelle on Friday and then 9 with the girls on Saturday. I really really miss being able to run with the girls on their Saturday long runs! Biking is okay, but just not the same.

Finally able to get back to the pool. It is getting easier, but still very monotonous. I have to think of something to concentrate on besides counting my laps.

Great before the first day of school walk with Jessi! We love exercising together, but this walking is really starting to get frustrating. Hopefully, her injury will heal and mine too, and I can... read more

Finally made it back to the pool after not being able to get there with school inservice, practice, and getting my room ready for fifth graders! It is getting easier, but I think I need an underwa... read more

Walked my normal 3.5 mile run course. Beautiful morning!

Swimming is going better now that the whole breathing underwater skill is getting refined. Still is kinda monotonous to swim laps! More and more respect for those who swim everyday!!

Great morning to run (and bike, I guess!)! Started out 4 miles with Anna P. and then 5 with the girls and 12 with Ryan. Beautiful morning for a long run! Good job, ladies!

Arrived at the Fitness Center and had to choose a lane. There was definitely two fast people in the lanes that I was not going to go into. I was so impressed with them, and it turns out that Jeff... read more

Just swimming! I pass the time by counting laps and strokes. Really miss the blue sky, green grass, and ability to converse while exercising. The good news is I think I am taxing my aerobic syst... read more

My second day in the pool. Chlorine water up your nose does not feel good. I don't dislike the swimming so much, but lack of scenery and conversation. Hoping this month of cross training and... read more

After the morning swim, Paul and I walked 5 miles with half of them at the park. I love this weather!

So, I finally bought the swimsuit (love running clothes so much more) and the goggles, and joined the Fitness Center to cross train while not running. I cannot remember ever swimming laps to stay ... read more

I remember swimming a ton of laps when I was out for a long time with my hip a few years ago. It is a nice new challenge but can be tedious so nice job on staying dedicated to it. I am such a slow swimmer so I really respect the true "swimmers" out there. I know what you mean about liking running clothes better than swimsuits. :) We use an hour of intense cross training to equal a 5 mile run but I think that conversion is a little high.

As hard as it is to run those hills, it's even harder to bike them. Way to go. Yes, the season is so close. I'm excited too.

I know how you feel about the frustration of working through injury and trying to be patient. You will get there, and like you said, it makes you appreciate your blessings more. Good that you still have workout buddies to cross train with. We'll have to have you guys over to the new house sometime...maybe when there is a new baby living there too! :)

Can't wait to go baby shopping! Thanks for the encouragement. I look back at what I did a year ago and it seems so long ago. And the way you are working thru pregnancy AND injury is inspiring! Hope the move went well and you enjoyed the first night in the new home!
