    good Cross-Training @ HIT Training 00:55

Did a whole mess of planks, sprinting, burpees, and trx. Darn near wiped me out but the old legs still held up after my run this morn.

  2. RUN
    good 8.04 mi 01:18 09:42 pace

Nice pace for my first long run since the marathon. Legs felt good throughout. Luckily I just made it in this morning before the sun started beating down. Regardless the few minutes I got hit I thi... read more

    great 3.1 mi 00:26 08:29 pace

Really digging the pace today. I didn't feel like I was overdoing it at all.

  4. RUN
    good 5.12 mi 00:45 08:42 pace

Pushed it in the first mile to see where the legs were and felt good. Eased into a nice pace and kept it up. Worst part was the mugginess this morning.

  5. RUN
    good Recovery Week 2 3.09 mi 00:29 09:25 pace

Decided to give it 2 more weeks for recovery until training for the River to Sea Relay and the Philly Marathon begins. Forgot my trusty headphones at work so ran listening to good ol mother nature.... read more

good Nice and Easy 5.06 mi 00:49 09:45 pace

Didn't really bother to look at the Garmin until the end. Easy pace but still debating on when I should start training for the Philly Marathon. I'm inclined to give it a few weeks and work on speed... read more

Nice run! When is Philly? If it's November starting June 1st would give you 5 solid months of training.

Ya, it's a bit early yet. Do an easy week this week and your normal week next and you should be recovered from NJ enough to start training for Phili. if you don't already do them, I'd suggest Yasso 800s for your speed work once a month. Good rule of thumb for traing is 60% base miles, 15% LSD( long slow distance), 15% hills and 10% speed work. Speed work is great but your most likely to get injured doing it. Safe training!

Keep on training. I follow Brad Hudson and Matt Fitzgerald's philosophy of never being too far out of race shape. Listen to the body and run by feel, if it tells you to back off then back off if it tells you to go then GO!

good Recovery Run 3.08 mi 00:27 08:42 pace

Legs felt like lead and breathing felt like fire but it was good to get out finally after recuperating. Luckily I got it in b4 the rain. Weird how only a week off feels like a month and a month fee... read more

Just some lifting to get the body back in gear. My legs feel relatively good but don't even want to start pushing it without giving a few more days to recover.

You're close but give it just a little more time. Good use of your time with the weights!

We were probably in the same corral! Nice job out there! I wasn't real happy with the expo but the race itself more than made up for it!

I'll be in NJ with ya! A word of advice. Since marathoning is a lot more mental than people realize don't try to run the full 26.2 at once. Instead, run to mile 6. When you get there run to mile 10. Then run to the half, then to mile 20, then mile 21, 22, 23, 24, 25 and then to the finish! If you chop the distance into shorter ones you can short circuit your brain from giving you lots of negative thoughts. A positive mental attitude will serve you well! Now go get'em!
