Ran until we ran out of light! Felt awesome!! :)

  2. I've been terrible about logging my training on here! I have been training, but having a lot of difficulty being consistent because of the ankle sprain from July. I'm still having issues ... read more

Bummer. I hope your ankle gets better soon - and your knee. Sometimes overcompensating can cause worse troubles than the original problem. :(

Run to Rodale 2.7 mi 00:30 11:06 pace

Scheduled training. Boring and would have loved to run longer.

  4. RUN
Emmaus Pool Loop 3.5 mi 00:45 12:52 pace

This pace isn't accurate. I was running 10:30s (and very comfortable I might add) but then I got a nasty cramp in my left shin. Had to stop and stretch, walk, stretch some more, etc. Side note... read more

  5. RUN
good Around Emmaus 2.12 mi 00:25 11:47 pace

Started half marathon training tonight. An easy 25 minute run was on the schedule. It would've been much easier if I could have taken an actual breath! Holy humidity!! Otherwise a good run...h... read more

First run since I sprained my ankle 2 weeks ago. I was waiting for my ASO ankle brace to arrive and I'm glad I did...the ankle felt pretty good for still being so swollen. Doc says I need an M... read more

  7. This ankle sprain is killing me!! I've missed so many days and miles of running, 4 dance classes, and a 5k so far. I cannot sit still this long. Gahhh!!! End rant :(

Ouch! That looks painful! Make sure you take your time though. I'm still working my way back from coming back to soon from a partial muscle tear.

Take your time and recover. It's tough, but really important, to be patient and heal right or you'll end up right back where you were (speaking from personal experience and being hard-headed). It's not easy, but absolutely necessary.

It depends on the season really. In the winter dance is definitely my #1 and in the summer they're about even...maybe a little more running. I am getting more into running though (race-wise) so maybe it will stick throughout the winter!!

    good 2.5 mi 00:27 10:35 pace

Considering this is 20 minutes post contemporary dance class I am pretty happy with my efforts. Best pace I've had in several weeks and on tired legs to boot! Woo-hoo!! Happy Thursday :)

  12. Has anyone ever done a Hash run? I know they are not competitive in the least...actually, finishing the trail first is frowned upon...but it sounds like fun. Wondering if anyone has done a run or i... read more

My boyfriend ran with a Hash group for several years. He really liked it. They had fun setting up courses, dressing up in silly outfits for some runs, and of course drinking beer after.

  13. RUN
    alright 3.3 mi 00:42 12:35 pace

I had an 11:10 pace going but by mile 3 the humidity got the best of me. I had to walk twice tonight, but figured run/walk was better than nothing. It was like trying to breathe in a plastic bag!

    Jazz/Lyrical Dance Class 01:20

Back to back dance classes tonight. There were only 2 of us so we zipped through choreography AKA ran it over and over and over AKA we were sweating fools! Felt great!! I LOVE lyrical.

I agree with April; take the shoes back if they're not working for you. Did you buy them at a local running store? If so, I would tell them about your issues and see if they recommend anything after watching you run.

Nice job, Erica! Yeah, I'm not the biggest fan of the Parkway sometimes, although it can be quite shady :) I agree, try a couple more runs and consider a re-fit for new shoes if you still have those splints...definitely could be the shoes!
