RUN
Emmaus Pool Loop 3.5 mi 00:45 12:52 pace
This pace isn't accurate. I was running 10:30s (and very comfortable I might add) but then I got a nasty cramp in my left shin. Had to stop and stretch, walk, stretch some more, etc. Side note... read more

good Around Emmaus 2.12 mi 00:25 11:47 pace
Started half marathon training tonight. An easy 25 minute run was on the schedule. It would've been much easier if I could have taken an actual breath! Holy humidity!! Otherwise a good run...h... read more

This ankle sprain is killing me!! I've missed so many days and miles of running, 4 dance classes, and a 5k so far. I cannot sit still this long. Gahhh!!! End rant :(
-
Ouch! That looks painful! Make sure you take your time though. I'm still working my way back from coming back to soon from a partial muscle tear.

Take your time and recover. It's tough, but really important, to be patient and heal right or you'll end up right back where you were (speaking from personal experience and being hard-headed). It's not easy, but absolutely necessary.

It depends on the season really. In the winter dance is definitely my #1 and in the summer they're about even...maybe a little more running. I am getting more into running though (race-wise) so maybe it will stick throughout the winter!!

My boyfriend ran with a Hash group for several years. He really liked it. They had fun setting up courses, dressing up in silly outfits for some runs, and of course drinking beer after.

I see you're from Philly...you have multiple hashes down that way! You my even run into people you know. My husband ran into a ton of people from work and continues to every time we go. And just so you know, Emmaus isn't that far :) You can always come hash up here with us! There is one this Saturday!!

RUN
alright 3.3 mi 00:42 12:35 pace
I had an 11:10 pace going but by mile 3 the humidity got the best of me. I had to walk twice tonight, but figured run/walk was better than nothing. It was like trying to breathe in a plastic bag!

Great job on the 3.3!!!

I agree with April; take the shoes back if they're not working for you. Did you buy them at a local running store? If so, I would tell them about your issues and see if they recommend anything after watching you run.

Nice job, Erica! Yeah, I'm not the biggest fan of the Parkway sometimes, although it can be quite shady :) I agree, try a couple more runs and consider a re-fit for new shoes if you still have those splints...definitely could be the shoes!

Erica...when I first started running, it was with a group that focused on interval running. Check out the link below for the program we used. It was incredible and empowering...thought you might be interested! http://www.firststrides.com/handouts/workout_cheatsheets.pdf
