After evaluating my running and the whole "training during the summer in ATX" idea. I decided to just suck it up and get out there for Rogue's group run this morning. I was a bit nervous for the 8 miles, since I haven't run in a week and half. The key was, starting glacially slow - almost a minute slower than my normal pace.

I think I'm just going to have to accept that I'm going to be slower if I train through the summer. I'm just not going to sustain the paces I am when the weather is cooler. I think by accepting that, I'm letting myself off the hook a little. Also, I'm almost certain that I'm going to switch to the morning group during the week. Though this means 5 am (or earlier!) wake ups every day, it'll probably be the only way I won't talk myself out of running.

    Nice run! I did notice that starting out slow and keeping it there really helped on my long run today...running early will also help with the heat thing..I found that it was the only time running was bearable last year.
