  2. walk
great Lynchburg General Course 1 mi

I felt great until it started to rain. Needless to say, the next 3 hours of work is going to be miserable.

  3. RUN
    great Treadmill 2.5 mi

I think I need to stick with the treadmill until I become a stronger runner. I know it does do some of the work for you. I will still venture for some walks and run/walk outside.

Nothing wrong with training on the treadmill. Make sure to adjust the incline, so you're not all flat. Great job with the run!

Had to stop in the middle for a phone call. I broke a little sweat so I know I got some exercise done.

  5. RUN
    good Percival's Island 2.5 mi

Well not as good as I was expecting. I think I need to condition myself to running in the heat and humidity.

Nice run, anyway. I hear it takes practice running in the heat and humidity. Me - I just stick to the TM during the summer.

I find I have more energy and stamina when I run at night but for safety reasons I have to train for my race during the day (unless I can talk a co-worker to come with me). I will be switching to day shift here in a few weeks. Hopefully I will adjust well so I will keep training.

Thanks everyone. I was able to run for 20 mins straight. I think at night have more energy and endurance but I cannot go to the track that late without someone else being there also. I am going to try and push through on some more day runs. I do have a new job in a few weeks that will put me on the day shift. I will be able to run in the evenings as long as I have the energy from the switch. I do have a 4 miler in a few weeks to help keep me motivated.

Oops, I did not know my new app would post immediately. I walk for the first 5 mins and ran the next 12 mins; after that it was run/walk/run/walk. I am trying to do C25k and I cannot seem to get past week 5 day 3, which has a 5 min warm up, run 20 mins, and 5 min cool down walk. I will keep at it since I have already signed up for a 4 miler for September 23. I know I wont be able to run the whole thing. Even if I am able to run 4 miles solid by then; due to the huge hills on the course.

I really like Gatorade's primers. They are 100 calories each and don't mess my tummy up before going. Could be a quick option. Good run.

Thanks for the tip Amanda; I'll give it a try. The reason I had not eaten lunch was because my husband was not available until mid-afternoon. I still had to stop and walk some but not as much as the day before.
