Update: Gun T - 63:56; Net T - 60:19; Pace - 9:43; 5k - 34:21

Even with three layers (polyester wise man outfit, 2 undershirts), the job was done. With 12 other people from my church running this race, I was elated to hear "Wise Men" along the course. I started along with the other 2 wise men (Steve B. & Collins F.) until we passed the 3 mile marker. They scooted ahead of me approx. one or two minutes. Unofficial personal time was 1:04:05 or something.

It was great fun to see many people in their holiday costumes, which included several Santa Clauses, a few Mrs Santa Clauses, dozens and dozens of reindeer, a carton of milk and a cookie, and an angel, and a half naked elf. Plus, two female runners with red shirts saying "I'm with Jingle" and "I'm with Jangle" were running in synch.

With the mist dripping on my body and the weight of the costume, by the time I arrived to mile 5 it felt like I was carrying an additional 10 lbs. Between mile 4 and 5, my right knee started to throb, but the pain disappeared as I approached mile 6.

Nice sprint when I saw that finish line. Everyone had indeed finished the race!
