good Rail Trail/Dean Park 2 mi 00:40 20:00 pace

Another example of "Good idea/poor execution!" Went to the rail trail with the family so Lex and I could run together with Charlotte in the jogging stroller and Isabelle on her bike only to find it muddy with snow and ice in some spots. After hooking the leash from the stroller up to Izzy's bike and getting maybe a half-mile in we decided it was only going to get more difficult and turned around.

Not to be deterred, we drove over to Dean Park where the conditions were far more favorable and did 3 loops around the park. In al we ran somewhere around 2 miles total with a few walk breaks thrown in. The best part? No ITB/Knee pain and my right calf held up and didn't give me any issues.

I'm a bit sore today, but the good sore. Can I count that as my first legit training run for the GCI Ultra? Yup. That's right. I've got some training to do! I got into the Great Cranberry Island Ultra on July 21, 2012! Yay! Time to beat my body into submission again...

Stu's is seeming less and less likely. Either way though, I'll be there, PRetty sure Lex is off, and since it IS a CMS event, I should probably at least volunteer if I am able...

I did the Vermont 50 in September, doing it again this year. I'm also doing the Wapack and Back 50 miler in May, and most likely running from Boston to Detroit in 2 weeks in October to raise money for charity...
