    good Dam2Dam 12.4 mi 01:35 07:41 pace

Well, I'll be "dammed" (Hey, I'm known for those lame comments): I finished, and I did better than I would have guessed. My pace was faster than any of my distance training p... read more

  2. RUN
    great Newtonia 2.2 mi 00:17 07:43 pace

What the heck... I timed it anyway. My training plan 20 minutes the day before the race. I guess I'll find out if I'm ready tomorrow. First race ever.

  3. RUN
    great newtonia 3.2 mi 00:25 07:39 pace

Very well... my last timed run before D2D. Hey, what's that goin' down my leg?

One week to my first race ever. Getting nervous about getting nervous about how nervous I will get. Finish.

  5. RUN
    great Newtonia 3.1 mi 00:25 08:03 pace

Easy run after a few days off... feel great though.

  6. RUN
tired Volksweg Trail- Red Rock Park 11.1 mi 01:27 07:50 pace

Today was an illustration why man invented wheels. And 100-proof whiskey. After six miles, I was pulling a boat from the campground. I was stunned at my time when I finished. Figured I'd b... read more

Some days your head and your body are just disconnected- you're lucky you're a stormchaser... keeping on running... only 13 days to D2D!

  7. RUN
    great Newtonia 3.2 mi 00:25 07:39 pace

Hot and windy, but it felt good. This training thing pays off. I usually hurt like an extra in the Texas Chainsaw Massacre after running in this heat.

Best I have felt after running in the heat and humidity of afternoon. Maybe it was the shoes.

I just changed my shoes today. I go too long because I don't think about it enough.

Great weather and a trail through woods and farm land... and flat. Lots of runners here.

At that pace you must have not hit the Southern Comforts too hard.

Au contraire... that was the fuel:) I was trying to run away from my own pores. Actually wanted to run farther but part of the trail was closed. Amazing what your pace can be without hills to climb.

  10. RUN
    great Newtonia 3.2 mi 00:23 07:11 pace

About as fast as I can go at my age. Really pushed, and at least this time it showed a bit. Don't think I could do that for much longer.

  11. RUN
    Newtonia 5.4 mi 00:44 08:08 pace

Felt very good despite the head wind on the way back. D2D only a few weeks off... my first race ever.

  12. RUN
good Red Rock park Volksweg Trail 11 mi 01:29 08:05 pace

Felt better than last week... the grueling miles of 8 through 10 this time were easier cuz I told myself how tuff they were before hand. Amazing how that works. What a beautiful area... recommend... read more

  13. RUN
    great Newtonia 3.2 mi 00:25 07:48 pace

Pushed it a bit since it was a short run so surprised my pace was so slow. Really thought it'd be faster. Next time I won't run in army boots (duh).

  17. RUN
    blah Newtonia 5.4 mi 00:43 07:57 pace

Hot... felt like I was pulling cantaloupes across the desert. I hurt. Worst I've felt since i started running. I should think about slowing down maybe.

Slowing down can make you a better runner. I am equally convinced from personal experience that run/walk/run will eventually lead to faster paces. Experiment!

Awesome run and pace! I too have not been one to say, "I'm a runner." But when you always think of the next run and can't wait to lace up, then I believe we are in that category now. :-) Job well done "The King."- Did you think to yourself today, "8k?!? Wusses."
