Old mantra = "I had a baby. I got this."
New mantra ="Do it for Caleb."
Running's been tough in the Masland household as of late. Caleb's struggling with an injured Achilles, and I've been feeling guilty every time I've had a good run. But I realized that feeling guilty about running doesn't help anyone. So now, when I get to a tough part of a run, I'm going to think about my new mantra. And this applies to other things in life too. When you are struggling through something and want to pout about it, just tell yourself, "At least I am lucky enough to have the *opportunity* to struggle through this. Not everyone does."
Anyways, run went great-- 10K taper before next week's half. Keeping with Coach Caleb's recs, I did decreased distance at the same intensity. I hadn't ever run that many miles in our hilly neighborhood before, but I did and at a great pace, too!
