the Georgia ING Half! I'm married to the illustrious Caleb Masland, and after a baby in June '09, I don't look quite like the gal he married. Let's fix that.

The bib is pinned and ready. I have to admit, I got a little choked up at the Expo today. I have been to so many of those for Caleb and have always felt a little left out, especially since I never dreamed I could run 13 miles. Here goes nothing!

  2. greatLAST RUN BEFORE THE HALF! 1.2 mi / 00:14:40 12:13 pace

Just a short back and forth in front of our house to loosen up before tomorrow's race. Tried to go slow--race pace is about 12:30 so I think this was good enough. I kinda feel like it's Christmas Eve, and that is so weird!

  3. good30 mins easy-2nd to last run! 2.86 mi / 00:33 11:40 pace

2nd to last run before the half. 30 mins easy was on the schedule, but it took 33 to get around the neighborhood. Tried to slow down from my pace on Monday, but I still ended up going faster than anticipated. It felt like if I slowed down any more I'... read more

  4. greatFastest run yet . . and on hi... 3 mi / 00:34 11:19 pace

Decided to push myself today! I know that's not exactly what you're supposed to do during a taper, and I promise I'll take my remaining 2 runs nice and slow, but throwing down a killer run the week of a big race just seemed like something Caleb would ... read more

Oh, and I also just got on the scale and discovered I am back in the 120s. Haven't been there since pre-pregnancy!!! And since I got up to the 170s during the pregnancy, that is pretty killer.

Old mantra = "I had a baby. I got this."
New mantra ="Do it for Caleb."
Running's been tough in the Masland household as of late. Caleb's struggling with an injured Achilles, and I've been feeling guilty every time I've had a good ... read more

  6. greatTempo on the Track 3 mi / 00:35 11:39 pace

Cold and rainy morning = running inside. There's no way I was about to do a tempo run on the hills around my house in the cold rain. I'm just not that hardcore. Yet. Ran 1 mile warm up, 1 mile tempo, and 1 mile cool-down. Nike+ is officially off--... read more

after I got my Garmin, I completely stopped using Nike+ because it was so off. I'm much slower than I used to think I was.

I run with both... Accuracy fluctuates based on my pace.... Still a good way to do challenges with friends. Fun way to track. :0) ...I think it's time for that upgrade!

  7. tired11-Mile Loopdee Loop 11.06 mi / 02:15 12:09 pace

Just completed my first 11-miler ever! Was supposed to be 10, but I decided ahead of time to go for 11 so I would be a little more secure come race day (this was my last long run before the half). During the run, I got really, really hot and was star... read more

It simply didn't happen for me today. We have a busy weekend with Caleb's dad in town, and the whole time, I was stressed about not completing my run in time to meet him this afternoon. And then I checked my pace and it was SLOWER than usual, even af... read more

  9. good#lunchrun with Caleb M. 3.41 mi / 00:40 11:37 pace

To mix things up a bit for my "easy" run today, I asked Caleb to go on my run with me today. I knew it would serve two purposes: 1) it would let him run, but would require him to run slower than he ever would on his own, to keep him from fur... read more
