    good Parent 2 Parent 5K-3rd Place ... 3.1 mi 00:30 09:48 pace

First race after Chicago, and only the 3rd time on my feet. Good enough for 3rd place in my 30-39 age group! Honestly, it would have been better if this was sub-30 (and I think the course measure... read more

tired Greenway Intervals 4.95 mi 00:54 10:53 pace

Nine months of running at a 12:00 pace does not a 9:30 pace make. Interestingly, running the marathon got my mental game straight (i.e., no more I can't). Unfortunately, no amount of mental ... read more

    good First Post-Marathon Run 3.11 mi 00:32 10:08 pace

I only took 10 days off after the marathon, but it feels like a year. (And it was only supposed to b 7 days, but Caleb M. traveled this week, and that makes things difficult). Anyways, this was j... read more

    great 3.68 mi 00:43 11:37 pace

Same location as Tuesday (Bass Lake loops-flat on gravel), but longer and with less knee pain. Seems like the decision to cut back this week (no dance and only 1 yoga) as well as the decision to w... read more

  8. RUN
    good Tapertastic 14 14 mi 02:52 12:17 pace

It's weird. It seems like running 7 miles less than last week should translate to a lot faster pace. The pace *is* about 15 seconds per mile faster, but given that I ran an 11:56 pace 16-mil... read more

great Jalapeno Tempo 5.55 mi 01:00 10:47 pace

These long runs are character builders. You might have struggled a bit on this run but the truth remains the same. You beat the miles, they did not beat you! You finished. Hold your head up and be proud!

20 miles isn't easy and pushing through all 20 miles when you're fighting yourself every step of the way is even harder and you did that! This was not only a run that helped you prepare physically, but is such a mental toughness builder -- I'm super impressed:)

It's nice you have a way to mimic Chicago. What are you using for fuel on your stops? I'm nuun and gels but still mucking around with what works best for me. Also tried 1st endurance but not sure about it. Great and inspirational run.
