Knocked off my first IronMan and marathon run in one day. I had never been able to run a marathon before. I've had lots of issue with IT bands after 13+ miles. So strategy was to complete run with out IT bands making me walk. Followed strategy of run in between aid stations. Walk at aid station. Didn't focus on speed or trying to keep up with anyone. Saw plenty of people try to kill it to maintain their goal pace only to be reduced to walking later on. I kept very discipline with running between every station. I I was proud of my mental toughness on this part of event. Garmin died at mile 19 so I had no idea of my pace or mileage after that. Fed off the energy of people when we came around to the crowds. It was the most unbelievable feeling to finish your first IronMan. Debra I am so proud, elated, ever so grateful we became friends two years ago and that we shared this journey together. I still can't quite believe I did this. :)

Man, I would have killed myself if I'd had the bike you had, but it's incredible mental and intestinal fortitude to come back from it and put in a SOLID run. Congrats man, you showed you've got what it takes!
