This was tough mentally today but I counted off every achievement. You know what I mean. After the first 5 minutes, "You're 1/8 done!" and after the first half-mile, "Just do that 5 more times!" and then the 1/3 point, the 1/2 point and the 2/3 point. And then the last mile. And then the last ten minutes (I like to count them down like the ball is dropping on New Year's Eve).


haha...you're funny, but it does work and you're not the only one finding head games to play while walking!! Awesome pace too :-)

That's on a treadmill right? I've done the same, but never do it outdoors - strange...

I guess outdoors you don't have those numbers staring at you, just ASKING for math to be done.
I do all my fitness walking on my treadmill; I am positive I couldn't walk that fast outside, or wouldn't, I should say.

Somedays, I place a book or towel over the readouts so they're not constantly staring me in the face. You're also the opposite of me, my better walks are outside. Not sure why, but that's the way it works for me :-)

I'm just weird. :)
I live in my head most of the time, and the treadmill plays right into that. Having to come out of my head in order to navigate and be sociable to other walkers (it's a very small town) and be wary of dogs and potholes, well, I lose focus on speed and form. Also, I feel silly walking really fast in public! I think running would be easier for that, but you know that story...

I totally do that some days. But doing that helps me get through. Awesome pace Diana! You have really sped up those walks!
