No mileage today. In fact, my second rest day in a row after Sunday's Rock n Roll Half-Marathon. This past weekend was a lot of fun, Despite the tough, warm, muggy race conditions, the entire weekend was more than that. I didn't set a PR this time. In fact, I was disappointed with my finish. But as I said, it'll be a learning experience. There was something one of my DM/FB friends, Rene P. said to me in response to my half on Sunday. She said, "Come back harder, stronger, hungry." That was simple, and to the point, and those words are gonna stick with me always--thanks for that Rene! But the best part of the weekend was getting to meet several running friends for the first time. I finally(!) got to meet Kelly L. and Susanna M.! Kelly & Susanna, it was really great to meet you ladies, and congrats on a great race, it was a tough one! I also made a new friend in Krista C. It was great to meet you, Krista, and I'm sure I'll see you in the future (Chicago Marathon, maybe?). I also got to see Chuck G., and Kirk T. once again.
So, all in all, it was a great weekend, and I'll be looking forward to the next time. Maybe it won't be so damn warm and muggy!

It was great to meet you too Derek! You deserve the rest. Use it to recharge and refocus. You have been killing all your races this season and this is the first one that didn't go your way. This one was a character builder and it will only make you better. Use it and move forward. It was a fun race and has me thinking of maybe doing the Chicago Half coming up...maybe :-)
