A little disappointed in the overall result, but sometimes, that's just the way it goes. Sometimes, race days are the bad days. My official time--1:48:51.I missed my time goal by 3 minutes, and my PR by 2 minutes. Given the conditions, I went out too fast in the 1st half, and paid for it in the 2nd half....and struggled big time. Every run/race is a lesson, so all I can do is learn from this, and apply it to the next race. It's just gonna eat at me until the next opportunity...

You did awesome! It was so nice to meet you afterwards! Thanks to Kelly I got a new friend! Don't beat yourself up- I did the opposite today and probably should have started a little faster! Hey- sometimes you just arent right on! Great job!

You're right. Sometimes we just don't feel it on race day and we learn from our mistakes. You said it was going to be hot which can really affect your race. You did your best on this day!

Derek, don't be too hard on yourself. Conditions were tough today. I am so happy I got to meet you! Definitely a highlight of the day! You will get that PR and your sub 1:45, soon. Great job today! Hope we can run together sometime soon!

I hear you Derek, it was tough sledding out there today! I can't remember my legs feeling so heavy in a race before! I too missed my mark but under those conditions, I feel pretty good about the results and we both have a ton of races in front of us to hit our goals! It's very difficult to PR in the summer months! I had a blast seeing you, meeting Kelly and making a new friend in Krista! Good times!!!

Awesome half Derek. Those pacing issues can be really tough to handle sometimes but you learn a lot from experiences like today's half.

Oh Quickie D, I just love you. First, not every race is going to be a PR. Second, so many things factor into a good race and time: weather, food, sleep, the course, etc... Sounds like you did your very best and fell short. You're still a winner in my book! Don't beat yourself up over this. Yes live and learn and always do your best with no regrets. !:48 is an incredible time and it's still super fast! You rock my friend. You truly do. <3

Derek, you did good for the conditions. Like it was said above today was a learning experience. Ask Chuck about San Antonio.

Nice job - you did just fine and call it a learning experience. With your wheels this was just a training run!
