I was hoping to run Philosopher's Way this year, but I can't swing it with the other 1/2 marathons I'm running. I'm thinking about doing all trail races next spring, and Philosopher's Way will definitely be one of them.

Thanks, all! Greg, is that 8:05 mile your fastest single mile? That is what it would be for me. A 1 mile time trial at full effort. And I haven't done it yet! Lol! These repeats were very high effort. I could only have done 1 or 2 more at most.

Advice anyone? Does this type of adaptation just come with the continued logging of miles? Base training? Higher overall mileage? Or is this pattern standard for most people?. Thoughts?

So today I set out for a little, slow run. Bottoms of my feet ached the entire time. NOT PF (I've had that before). They used to ache when I did exercises on the bosu so bad I had to hop off. I remember reading an article about doing some balance work to help with this but can't find right now...

My bones just hurt after I pound out so many miles, especially week in and week out. After around 23 miles they just hurt. Takes a day of two for the soreness to go away. I had a PT recommend strengthening the muscles in the foot for PF and similar foot aches, but not bone. Wondering how people run 100 milers. We must adapt through training for this type thing too. I must just not be fully recovering between long runs. (Which makes sense...)
