Felt great after my day off following 175 mile weekend. I love the Chain Gang, but my lack of social skills came out today due to the a'hole factor, & it may be best for everyone if I find... read more

I have ridden with the Chain Gang and lately it's become a very serious rules club. Just not for me. I have my own group of 14 and we typically have 7 or 8 to a ride. FAR less serious. We are a social group that rides for fun and exercise. Our fastest guy can do any pace up to 24. And he NEVER cares if you go around him. You are always welcome, but I fear you are too fast for most of us. But you are welcome. We ride every Sat/Sun and do any distance anyone wants on Sat and up to 65 on Sunday.

Thanks, Doug! I am always looking for a long ride on Sunday, so I may take you up on that.

We meet at the Timarron Bent Creek pool parking lot, on Continental in Southlake, going East it's the right turn just after Randy White Realty building. We meet at 6 AM, do an hour, meet there at 7 AM, do an hour, meet there at 8 AM and do 2 or 3 hours depending on what people want to do. Some do 3 and some do 2. It gives you lots of options on miles -- from 15 to 65 and more. I am always there at 6 and 7 and 8.

Fun just exploring with no set route. Have to get my legs back. Very slow pace, and tired at the end. I am feeling the workouts I've missed.

Thanks! I missed a week of workouts, & got out of the habit of posting. I have to get back to it - forgot how much I appreciate the encouragement, and motivation from seeing everyone's workouts!

Hey -- you didn't go down -- and it was not a great day to be out there on a bike. And you averaged over 19 mph in that crap. Well done!

Very good! What is the lake temp? Very good sans suit. BTW as you probably know the suit also provides buoyancy. Not just warmth. Coldest pool temp I had this year was 74. Wasn't fun. Boiler broke at pool.

You will get there, Debby. I remember three of our RAW friends when they first came to swim with us at the lake. They wouldn't even dare swim if they couldn't stand up, let alone swimming to the buoys, and now, they are great triathletes.
