I was just wondering what happened to you - I was a bit worried! Sorry to hear about your foot. Is this still from when you first ran in the Altras?

Nice score! Moving to Concord, so Briones would be an awesome half way point to get together on the weekends. :)

  4. RUN
Lafayette Moraga Trail 10 mi 01:41 10:04 pace

First double digit for my runners, many of which had never run this far! Ran the first 5 miles with a 11-12 min runner, and the second 5 miles with a 8:30-9 min runner. Felt great!

  11. RUN
    Easy 5 mi 00:50 09:57 pace

Have you run in zero drops before? They will really work your calves and feet. Make sure to take it easy, stretch your achilles, and massage your feet with a tennis or lacrosse ball. (I was actually surprised that you mentioned knee symptoms yesterday and not calf. It might have been secondary?)

I have, but only here & there - this is the first zero drop I've actually liked. I've been running in mostly 4mm drop shoes for 1.5 years though, so the transition should be a little less brutal. I think the knee twinge was just my body getting used to less cushioning, but I'll be sure to be proactive, take it easy, and transition gradually. :)

I've had some pretty painful days from my zero drops, but in the end I think it has really strengthened me. Even still I don't usually go any further than 15 in them. Good luck and try to keep your normal shoes in the mix now and then:)

Ha! So you found your secret power potion but its a little too pricey...hmm. I guess you can try to break it down and see what is working. I think it's Milk/Soy, Sugar and Caffeine. In the past I've noticed that I get a bigger boost, to the point of jitters/tweakiness from black tea caffeine vs coffee. Maybe its the black tea extract. Looks like a great morning run!

Haha. I let so many things like that slide. One man called me "honey" or "sugar" or something during my run today -- it was said in encouragement, so I just smiled at him.
