Nice to go for a ride! That stiff back is understandable. Try stretches, if allowed:-)

Your stiff back suggests that you slightly pulled some muscles there. I've heard foam rolling recommended for that. It might be too much though, but consider trying it a little bit.

    good Newark Mile 2.5 2.5 mi 00:42 16:37 pace

First time walking a race. Unable to run due to bruised ribs. I had pre-registered and picked up my bib before my car accident. I found that walking the race was a lot more effort than running it.

  9. RUN
    injured Neighborhood 1 mi

Very easy jog 2 minutes at a time with 1 minute walk breaks. The jarring motion of running hurts my ribs too much. Will walk tomorrow.

Yeah, I had broken ribs from an accident once, I know how it feels. I taped mine but they say you're not supposed to.

I am glad you got out. How are you feeling today after that terrifying accident? They must have hit you full speed. Your ribs and back still hurt right?

    • Doug G.
      Doug G.

That is terrible, I hope you can find a way to cross train. Have you seen the door way stretch exercise for the hamstring? That's what cured mine. But I don't think mine was a severe as yours. Hope it gets better fast. Sorry about that injury.

Do gentle dynamic stretching (not EVER ferocious stretching) while it heals... my advice anyway.
