  1. RUN
    It's been a while. 2 mi 00:17 08:43 pace

    I've been running; I just haven't been posting. :(

  2. RUN
    Operation Flenser, Day 1 3.1 mi 00:28 08:53 pace

I've back-slid in pretty much every way over the past year. Need to stop it.

  3. RUN
    BWC Training Week 5 2.25 mi 00:20 08:53 pace

Haven't logged my stuff in a while.

  4. walk
Ten percent incline. 2.1 mi 00:33 15:33 pace

I feel neither this nor yesterday's half.

  5. RUN
Frederick Half Marathon 13.11 mi 02:30 11:28 pace

I started out with the 2:20 pace group, with plans of running off at the 15K or 10 mile mark and coming in at 2:17-18ish. But one of my two "runner's curses" hit me during Mile 2, an... read more

  6. RUN
    Flatlands 3.15 mi 00:30 09:30 pace

It's Overachiever Thursday, where allergies kicked my ass hard. This is why I can't forget to take Benadryl anytime between mid-March and June.

  7. RUN
    BWC Training Week 1 3.85 mi 00:36 09:19 pace

5K in 28:29 (9:11 pace). I have a lot of work ahead of me if I am going to beat last year's time for the Baltimore Women's Classic, let alone PR. But I was smart this time, and in additio... read more

    Important decision has been made.

  9. RUN
    Los Flatlandos 8 mi 01:20 09:57 pace

The Frederick Half is next week, and conventional running wisdom advises against going the full distance a week before a race, so I decided to go for quality instead of quantity. Also wanted to mak... read more

  10. walk
The dreadmill, but with good ... 3.1 mi 00:49 15:48 pace

Ten percent incline. In my non-running, hiking-every-weekend days, I could last an hour at 15:00/mile (which is a pretty fast walk for us short people). Pretty sad that my endurance is actually les... read more

  11. RUN
    Flatlands 3.1 mi 00:28 09:09 pace

Had to stop FIVE TIMES because I could not breathe. Stupid cherry blossoms. On the plus side, I wore the new shoes, and other than being a little un-used to their stiffness (yay motion control), I ... read more

My allergies always seem to act up in May. Sucks. What kind of shoes did you get?

Asics Foundations. They are about halfway between the Brooks Adrenaline and Addiction, if that helps. The good thing is, they were cheap; the bad thing is, that's because they are a discontinued model. At least I don't see myself getting too attached to them, especially after heading down to Roadrunner Sports and talking with the woman who did my initial gait analysis. She thought the Asics 3000s would be much better for me. I tried them on, and they felt perfect, while the Foundations feel...okay.

I wish I could find a decent shoe that is a little less stiff than the Adrenaline. I need to go shoe shopping soon.

You might like the Ravenna. It's probably the shoe that I will start using with my orthotics for shorter runs once I've burned through all my Ghosts. (I'm on my third pair of those, and thanks to Sierra Trading Post, I have another on deck.) Doesn't hurt that both the name and the current color scheme say "go Ravens" all over them. ;)

    Doldrums 5 mi 00:47 09:23 pace

Still trying to figure out which shoes I will wear for the Frederick Half. The Equalons are out, and after today, the Nimbuses (which I used for Cherry Blossom and the Baltimore Half) are as well. ... read more

  13. RUN
Workin' on the railroad 10 mi 01:44 10:21 pace

This run sucked. Had to stop -- and stop the clock -- more times than I could count. My legs felt completely dead the whole time.

  14. RUN
It was pouring. And thundering. 5 mi 00:47 09:26 pace

Training is finally starting to get back to normal. Going to try for 13.1 on Sunday, which would bring me to 26.2 for the week.

  15. RUN
    Meh 3.1 mi 00:28 08:58 pace

I don't like the amount of ass I had to bust to get under 9 a mile.

  16. RUN
    Doldrums 5 mi 00:47 09:25 pace

Nothing I can really say given the seriousness of yesterday's events.

I still can't believe it. So terribly sad.

Time was ass-tastic, but I got it done, at least.

  18. RUN
    Los Flatlandos 4 mi 00:39 09:47 pace

Long story short: after having recurring calf and hip issues, I decided to take a chance on the motion control shoes I never actually run in. Good: no pain. Bad: feels like I have lead weights tied... read more

  19. RUN
    Doldrums 1.3 mi 00:12:11 09:22 pace

Tried out new shoes. You see how long that lasted.

  20. RUN
    Doldrums 5 mi 00:49 09:42 pace

Wanted to do this outside, but the temperature was 88 degrees, so, uh, no. Was slower than normal for this distance, but that was partly intentional.
