great Prouty Century 100.42 mi 06:40 15.1mph pace

Unlike last year, this year's Prouty started off cool and foggy and never got above 80°. none of the people on my team had any mechanical failures this year, not even a flat. Last year I was not in peak shape because I was still recovering from my Achilles tendon rupture, but this year I was ready. Other than a fair amount of neck pain the last 30 miles I didn't have any issues at all. We set a pace consistent with the ability of the slowest team member and enjoyed the ride through the Connecticut River Valley. Our team raised over $2000 for cancer research and we are committed to starting our fundraising efforts a lot earlier next year and are hoping to raise significantly more. Next year is also the five year anniversary of my brother-in-law's cancer remission, so it will have a special significance.

David what a great cause - so glad it went so well for the whole team. What a beautiful area to bike through - next year clue us in so we can support you on the 5th anniversary ride.
