good Nature Center Trails Tour 10.08 mi 01:15 07:24 pace

Almost took today off as the hip was bothering me this morning. Decided to go out and get in at least a few miles. It was raining out and I am not sure why I decided to run on the bridle trail as it was sloshy and muddy and with all the leaves it was hard to pick any dry spots. The first 1/4 mile I was not feeling too hot but after that things started to work themselves out. By the end of the run everything started feeling pretty good. I was still really tight today and was shocked at my pace as I felt like I was going slower then last night yet the pace was almost 30 seconds per mile faster. I am glad that I have tomorrow off so I can roll and stretch all the hotspots and get ready for the weekend push.

    I honestly think that sometimes being tight yields better results - we are tight because our muscles are used to working a certain way, so they are just signaling they are primed to perform. Some of my worst runs come when I do too much stretching or foam rolling the night before. Nice double-digits.
