Woke up a little stiff this morning but not too bad. The only thing bothering me is the ball of my right food and my big toe felt strained. I have been having issues with my foot over the last couple of months but it has been very manageable and more of an annoyance. Planned on doing a really easy ten and headed down to the Towpath to do my usual route. The first 1/4 mile was a waddle and then things started to loosen up nicely. Overall I felt pretty good this morning. My avg heart rate stayed really low considering a nice pace. I didn't feel graceful this morning but didn't feel overly tired either. I could feel the Glycogen leave me around mile 10 and just pushed the last couple of miles to finish things off. This was a big mileage week for me with a lot of great quality miles. I may be looking to cut back a bit next week and push for the final 3 weeks before the taper begins.

DUDE. Mega impressed that you ran 12 today!

@Sarah G. At mile 10 I was questioning why I went out that extra mile at the turn around. It was actually a nice morning as I forgot my iPod so I spent the whole run reflecting about yesterday which was nice. Besides, it was a beautiful morning.

Completely agree with @Sarah G. Dang--you are on a monster roll right now. Clearly though you are in good touch with your body and know when to push and when to back off. Can't wait until I get to the point where I can say that I know what it feels like when the glycogen leaves me...

Not the kind of thing I'd be able to do the day after a 3:05!!!! Nice miles, have a good step-back week :)

OK, 3:05 training marathon, 12 today, you suck.

Wow - I'd say your 3:05 entitles you to a day or two off! Great "recovery" run!

12+ recovery miles is just craziness. But a good kind of crazy in my book :) Monster miles this week!

@Jeremy G. @Christine S. I wouldn't call these recovery miles at all. Just trying to get the miles in and the pace got a little carried away.

I guess I was using "recovery" loosely, since 12 at that pace after a marathon can't possibly feel too easy :)

Nuts that is what I say! However we could be looking at greatness like man who did 50 marathons in 50 days so I will no longer question it.

No wonder why you are at the top of my leaderboard if this is how you decide to recover one day after a PR marathon!!! Impressive

A couple of recovery days, maybe? I know you didn't put your all into Akron but it's still a tough course, and you still ran 26.2 - your fitness is solid for November, wouldn't hurt to back down a bit and let things recovery now. Just saying what I know some folks I respect would tell me if I had done this run. Nice job though.

@Greg S. I agree and having the balls to point that out I give you kudos for. Sometimes we need to be kept in check. I still have a good 4 1/2 weeks to keep the ball rolling and also don't want to peak early. I think that I am in sub 3 shape now or very close to it so I just need to be patient and not expect much more gains.
