Followed up swimming with a short ride on stationary bike. I guess this counts as my first brick workout, although the cycling was very easy with main focus on not aggravating my achilles.

Better than yesterday, but nothing makes me feel as inadequate as swimming. If, as it appears it will be for a while, swimming is my main exercise I think I might need to have lessons.

I never cared for swimming when I was younger. I held my breath for three or four strokes. Wrong. Someone pointed out that I needed more to breathe every stroke for more O and to glide more under the water.

I hear ya man. I've been in the pool lately and after the first outing alone I new I needed lessons. My swimming was just splashing around! Might as well get a lesson or two and enjoy it.

Couldn't get into any sort of rhythm. Didn't even manage to keep track of number of laps. Plus side is this is the one exercise where achilles doesn't hurt (much).

Looks like need to back off a bit. Achilles started to ache towards the end of the class (I think from periods when standing up). So swimming might be it.

Nice to see a DM post from you. I thought of you a lot today, especially as I walked up some of the hills. And I made sure not to trip and fall when I got to the field at the end of the race. ;-)

Lois, its only been 2 weeks (and I miss you too ... this solo training is tough), and I suspect it is going to be more than a 4 week sabbatical as absolutely no improvement. MRI tomorrow, but Doc doesn't think it will show anything (other than tendinosis) and this is just to rule anything else out. Back to see him next week and then will see what magic he can do.
