    Not run for 2+ weeks due to shin pains (again).Didn't want to push it and tried to run on softer ground,good run considering long break.Nice to be a runner again.

    Went very well considering recent pains,and feel great now. Ran without music,was nice to listen to my body instead.Enjoyed it:)

      Good job :-) I had an enforced music less run today and didn't like it at all. I like the music to drown out the discomfort lol

      Awesome job! It's great to run without music sometimes so that you can focus on your breathing and listen to the birds, etc. :)

      Cheers peeps. @Brian It felt OK,but still had the pains,not too bad though. Gonna run 2moro and see how I go. Have a physio at my works so may be worth a check out.

    After Monday's disaster the plan was to take it easy,still 2 miles was quite enough..May take a few days rest now rather than pushing it too much.Next run Sunday?

      prob a good idea, a nagging injury will set you back, best to look after it now and listen to your body

      You've got heaps of time until September. Take it slow and steady and you'll get there no problem. I hate to be another one to say it, but listen to your body.

      If it's still sore, do some cross-training in the meantime (cycling or swimming). It's advisable to add a bit of cross-training to your weekly schedule anyway, as running builds one set of muscles and you need to try and build the opposing muscles to keep everything balanced and healthy.

      Thanks Sara,That makes perfect sense about the cross-training and a great idea too,will include cycling in my training also from now on. Love what you do with canicross by the way,sounds great fun :)
