tired Gutting it out 19.2 mi 02:47 08:41 pace

There are runs that are hard, then there are runs that make you question what the heck you're doing out there, exactly. That was today. I knew I was in trouble when a hill at mile 7 seemed ove... read more

Some runs are just brutal, yep. But it builds such great mental and physical strength to gut them out. Way to go Danielle! I hope the next one is better!

  2. RUN
    Marathon pace 7 mi 00:58 08:13 pace

Did the first six miles at marathon pace (7:50 to 8:05), then a "cool down" on the long, steep hill the last mile. It's a hard way to end a workout but great fatigue training. What a... read more

  3. FIT
    Legs and core 00:20

Worked mostly legs, but also did a bit of core. Focusing on different muscle groups like the trainer showed me, with less weight. I think after a month it is making a difference!

  4. swim
    Arms of lead 1600 m 00:40 40:14 pace

After swimming yesterday, then a tough upper body workout, my arms and back were really sore this a.m. Had to really push to do this. Tried to swim continuously, with a few kick drills thrown in.

  5. FIT
    Personal trainer 00:35

Karen worked my core, arms and back really good today. She is an awesome trainer, really knows her stuff.

  6. swim
    Drills 1550 m 00:39 40:29 pace

Didn't get to finish my workout due to spacing it was aqua class day. Oh well, it is a crazy, short-on-time week so I will just do what I can. Did an 800 meter warmup, 350 meters of kick drill... read more

  7. RUN
Legs of lead 8 mi 01:12 09:00 pace

This run felt more like a slog. My ankle really hurt the first mile or so, almost bagged the run but then it eased up. I am surprised by how sore I am from the half. I mean, it was really hilly and... read more

So to get you to slow down to my speed it takes actual lead weights strapped to your legs, eh? Good to know. :-) Hope you feel better soon!

  8. Shared Photo

Probably the only race finish photo I've actually liked. :) This was Goat Mountain Gallop half on Saturday.

  9. swim
    Shake-out 1200 m 00:30 40:14 pace

Just a very gentle shake out from the half. Right calf and hamstring aren't too happy with me.

I dislike those type of activities. Mentally one wants to hit it hard.. but you know better to aid recovery :-(

Smart work on the shakeout Danielle. You definitely earned a temporarily mad right leg. ;-)
