    I hate to admit this but am actually a bit sore from yesterday's race. So I hit the pool today. 500 meter warmup, 500 meters medium, 250 meters kick drills, 6 50 meter sprints. 100 cool down.

      Is it the same as Challenge Penticton?

      I've only done the Penticton course, but people have said that Whistler and Penticton are very similar. I think as long as you practice a lot of open water swims, you'll be fine. The elevation gain and serious mountain passes are no joke, but that's Ironman. It's supposed to be hard. You could also consider doing Challenge Penticton, which is exactly the same as the former Ironman course, just run by the European version of Ironman (Challenge). You can't go wrong with either one!

      Thanks. I definitely want it to be hard, as weird as that sounds. A flat course sounds great but not as challenging, plus they tend to make my knees ache (weird, I know). Plus, there is the added benefit of simplying logistics and cost and not paying for plane fare, plus bike transport, etc.

    Decided to try an easy recovery swim to see how the body felt. Diaphram didn't feel too great at first but calmed down as long as I kept it nice and easy. Felt good to get back in the water.

      HOLY CRAP! I literally got wide-eyed when I saw your run time. That's faster than my Half PR ... and I only ran mine! :-) Anyway, you already know how completely freaking amazing I think you are. I loved reading this. Got a little teary at the end! It's been my absolute privilege to be your DM friend since pretty much when I first joined 3.5 years ago. I've watched you endure so many lows and crush so many highs, it's just so rewarding.
