  1. swim
No room at the pool 1600 m 00:40 40:14 pace

Seems as if every swimmer at 24 Hour Fitness decided this morning was a good time to get some work in, lol. I ended up squished against the far wall for my swim, my least favorite spot as it makes ... read more

Oh that's the worst. The wall is no one's friend! Kick drills after a speed session last night? Ugh. No thanks! I totally would have bailed on that! Nice work!

tired The oval torture chamber 8 mi 01:04 07:56 pace

Went to the track today for some speed work. The plan called for seven yassos, lucky me. I was tired, it was pouring rain and cold, and I was not feeling this workout in general. However, if I want... read more

    Overactive imagination 10 mi 01:30 09:00 pace

This was a slow one bc it was recovery and my legs are still fatigued. I started out later than I wanted, and as a result ended up running back on the trail in semi darkness. Of course, my overly a... read more

  6. RUN
tired Gutting it out 19.2 mi 02:47 08:41 pace

There are runs that are hard, then there are runs that make you question what the heck you're doing out there, exactly. That was today. I knew I was in trouble when a hill at mile 7 seemed ove... read more

  7. RUN
    Marathon pace 7 mi 00:58 08:13 pace

Did the first six miles at marathon pace (7:50 to 8:05), then a "cool down" on the long, steep hill the last mile. It's a hard way to end a workout but great fatigue training. What a... read more

  8. FIT
    Legs and core 00:20

Worked mostly legs, but also did a bit of core. Focusing on different muscle groups like the trainer showed me, with less weight. I think after a month it is making a difference!

  9. swim
    Arms of lead 1600 m 00:40 40:14 pace

After swimming yesterday, then a tough upper body workout, my arms and back were really sore this a.m. Had to really push to do this. Tried to swim continuously, with a few kick drills thrown in.

  10. FIT
    Personal trainer 00:35

Karen worked my core, arms and back really good today. She is an awesome trainer, really knows her stuff.

  12. RUN
Legs of lead 8 mi 01:12 09:00 pace

So to get you to slow down to my speed it takes actual lead weights strapped to your legs, eh? Good to know. :-) Hope you feel better soon!

Probably the only race finish photo I've actually liked. :) This was Goat Mountain Gallop half on Saturday.

  14. swim

Just a very gentle shake out from the half. Right calf and hamstring aren't too happy with me.

I dislike those type of activities. Mentally one wants to hit it hard.. but you know better to aid recovery :-(
