Tomorrow's Brooklyn Half Marathon may be the largest in the world. I've heard that they are now over 25,000 runners and may be heading to 37,000 in the future.

OMG, thanks, I am # 36,000 or so. Maybe I am in next yrs race.. LOL

Damn James, sounds like you're disappointed in your race today. Don't be. Maybe you just had an off day. It's not exactly an easy course and you're unfamiliar with it. That last stretch, while pretty flat just seems to go on forever. Your training has seen some huge gains in the last few months. Keep at it. You'll be PRing soon enough.

good Nervous energy run 4.03 mi 00:36 08:57 pace
Slow warm up. Took the hill at HM pace. Easy back down. I'm still not at 100% but pretty close.

That's a crawling taper pace, smart. Still feeling the effects of your puddle jumping "singing in the rain " run... That's a lesson learned.. I'll be in touch for tomorrow.

good Taper time 5.18 mi 00:45 08:46 pace
Starting my mini-taper for the BKLYN Half. A little stiff from yesterday's tempo but the perfect running weather made up for any discomfort.

great HM Pace Trial 6.15 mi 00:50 08:08 pace
Ran with the Fatsos--so I was expecting a nice super-slow run this morning. Mark grabbed me and we peeled off for a tempo. Ended up running 6+ at just about my projected HM pace.

Nice hilly run. I didn't know you had a hip / glute issue. What exactly is wrong ? Be careful out there. And I think 1:48 or even better is good for you next week !

@Shannon: just a minor glute strain from a failed puddle jump on Tuesday. Doesn't hurt. Just a bit stiff.

Nice run, you're lucky to be able to so many different routes.

@James: Silver Lake is the very opposite of a retirement community. It's hipster heaven. The best part about running he reservoir is the people watching. @Ray: yeah I can't complain though getting to and from these locations is often a pain. Look out for my posts in a few weeks when I'm all over Taiwan and China.
