Dana Smith running folks: i'm lo...
Track and share your training!
Dailymile makes it easy to keep track of your workouts. Map your routes and share with a community of active people.
Running folks: I'm looking to get a new shoe, preferably 0 drop and really light, to start training for the marathon in. Anyone have suggestions?! I've become very used to running my mileage barefoot but I'm fairly certain I'm not going to be ready for a barefoot full by October. I've been considering my Luna's but not set on them just yet. Thoughts? Suggestions?

I like my Saucony Hattoris but I've only run in them a couple times so maybe I'm not the best judge. :)

I think Kinvara's have a 4 drop. Brooks also has their new Pure line. NB also has their 1600 which i've heard good thing about. There are even shoes out with a negative drop. Something under your feet may not be a bad idea for the high mileage a marathon and its training requires. Runner's World just did a minimalist shoe guide not too long ago, so there may be info on their website.

I actually did my training for the Pig in Kinvara's and I ended up not liking them as much as I thought I would, the toe box is too small for me and I think the Pure line also has a 4mm drop, which is higher than I want. Ive been looking into the Hattoris and may start switching between those and my Luna sandals. I've not heard of the NB 1600s yet but I might give those a look, I love my NB trail 101s! Thanks guys!

I mostly run in the Kinvara 2 now, but had to buy the men's because the toe box was too narrow for me also. The Kinvara 3's are supposed to come in wide sizes, though. My husband wears the Brooks Pure Flow and really likes them. They have a 5mm drop, though. Runningwarehouse.com has the offsets listed for each shoe so maybe check that out see all the options. Hope you find something that you like.
