blah Sports Basement Presidio - Part of Coastal trail and back. 4.58 mi 00:59 12:57 pace

This trail run started nicely where I had a nice relaxed even pace and for some unexplainable reason I fell. I felt I was running in an easy controlled manner so not sure why I lost footing at mile 2, except that it was an uneven trail. I fell about 3 weeks ago and am wondering whether I jinxed myself by saying I never fall. No road rash this time but the thing that happened which is just as bad is that middle of my quad landed on a piece of wood that was stuck into the ground and protruding about 6 inches. So essentially I got a nasty charlie horse. I limped away and although I could jog my left thigh was hurting quite a bit and I ended up walking and jogging the rest of the way. After the run I could barely flex my left quad and when I did bend it slightly it was pretty painful. In the 3 hours since, it has stiffened up a lot and right now I am having trouble flexing it. I'm hoping the ibuprofen that I took along with the Rock tape that I applied to the contusion will help it. Funny it hurts a lot and is very stiff but it's not very black and blue. I'm sure it will be worse tomorrow. No need to mention my splits since I walked and limped more than half of it.

Hoping the quad isn't as gnarly this morning as I suspect it is! Great determination to get through 3 more miles after having that happen at the 2 mile point.

Again?! Dude be careful out there. You might have to switch from Ska to some Kenny G to help your concentration. Scratch that he might just make you want to run off a cliff. Hope that leg heals up soon!

Well the bruise isn't as black and blue as I though it would be but it is still painful (esp when flexing). It hurts mostly when going up or down stairs and is particularly painful when riding a bike (I had to ride my bike back home today) I have the 5K Color Run this weekend but I should be able to hobble through this OK, I'm just hoping I heal in time for my SF Half Marathon by the end of the month.

Do you feel ok now? I've fallen a fair amount when running, though not recently (knock on wood)!

The bruise doesn't look that bad, and when I touch it, it doesn't really hurt , but it does hurt a lot to flex my quad in any way. Not sure why I fell down a couple times recently, it's really strange..
