Fifth week in a row of interval workouts, and each time my average lap time has been lower than the previous week. Either I'm learning to dig deeper or I'm genuinely getting more fit each week - I guess it doesn't matter which as long as it translates into better race times. Averaged 3:02 per 800 meters today (5 weeks ago I was running 3:13). I have no excuse not to continue to do them each week since they're yielding great results but man, do they hurt!

That's great! One thing to remember is you can't do intervals for too long without a break in your training cycle.

Thanks Mike, good reminder. Next week is recovery. I've only been running 3 days/wk lately so I think I'm OK, but I am overdue some rest.
