I remember why I don't do intervals... brutal. 800m times: 3:01, 3:09, 3:11, 3:13, 3:16, 3:16, 3:21, 3:20. I guess I was pushing too hard seeing that I couldn't maintain the pace. Or are you supposed to run yourself into the ground?


Nice job. The next time you do these you times will be reversed. Oh and you just knocked 10 seconds off your per mile time 3 weeks from now.

Cool... I think I'll try to do these once a week, along with 1 tempo run and one long run, and see if it helps my next race to actually follow a training plan.

If you do a track + tempo, give it a couple days separation. Lots of folks like to do track on Tuesdays and tempos on Thursdays but that's not enough time to rest if you're over 30. Better to do the tempo on Friday or even Saturday so you can make it a true tempo.
