    DALE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I am now screaming at you !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
    Are you listening???????????????????????????????
OK, gee you miles and dedication are unbelievable, but gee sometimes you frustrate me so much.
Cycling is not all about how many miles we do but how we do them.
Yes a trainer has its uses , when the weather is naff or we haven't enough time, or our priorities mean we have to stay at home.

    BUT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
when we have the time to hit the road we have got to exlore, find those routes that we can do in one or two hours.
    BUT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
If you have got 4 hours tehn that is a minimum of 45 miles. So we have got to use that to expand our horizons. Take that left or that right turn, just to see where it goes. If it is a dead end or a naff road, no problem at least we have statisfied our curuiousity.
    But!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    BUT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
    Dale !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Every outside ride you do is to the Marblehead Lighthouse. It sounds a stunning route, but even now you must be a lttle bit bored of it??????????????????
I have google street viewed your area, come on DALE explore
Don't just tell me you have done 2 - 3 hours stuck in one place ie the CYCLE OPs, or that your outside ride is to the Marblehead Lighthouse.

I admire your dedication to riding the bike Dale and the miles and hours you put in
    BUT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
you are becoming my GROUNDHOG DAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I know you can do it so please do. Riding the bike is more than STATS for the day, it is about how it makes you feel. So next time don't tell me about your average cadence or your heart rate. tell me how it felt and show me some pics so I too can enjoy the place you live.

It may sound like a rant, but I really do admire your dedication and the time you get up to ride, But I THINK you are at the stage where you have forgotten why you ride and the obsession of meeting your goal of riding every day has taken over.
Please just enjoy the ride as we say :-))

What great shape you are in. Kevin has some good points, but I say you know better than anyone what you can do and how to train. I could run or bike the same route for weeks before changing it up,others do something different everyday-- matter of choice and style. Plus,us older guys have to train more efficiently since our bodies aren't quite what they used to be. Keep up the incredible work(Kevin's advice will come in handy at some point, that's for sure (
