Legs were heavy for the first couple of miles, was thinking of cutting it short... but then they started feeling better and a Quiet Riot kept coming up in my shuffled playlist. Scream and Shout, Metal Health, AND Come n Feel The Noize! LOL I thought about running another mile, but decided that would be a bad idea since I was already extending my distance quite a bit from my recent 3 mile runs. Weather was nice (50's) but windy; long sleeve shirt and CW-X tights was just about right.
To start with I was taking walk breaks after about 3 minutes, but near the end I started managing by heart rate, going slower, and extending the intervals to 9 mins or so. I feel good about that, I need to work on control for the half marathon and not just sprint it out like I do in the 5K's. My HR hit 191 as I sprinted at the end last weekend! LOL Still, my average was 161, which needs to come down a bit.
